The main purpose of WMU is to educate and involve preschoolers, children, youth, and adults in the cause of Christian missions. Through biblically sound, age-appropriate resources, we seek to energize, motivate, and equip all ages for missions involvement. Ongoing missions education opportunities develop believers who are informed about God’s mission in the world; they become fully engaged Christians who recognize and accept personal responsibility for sharing the love of Christ with others.-WMU
A word from our LFBC WMU leader Cynthia Dinkins:
“WMU, Women’s Missionary Union, is the mission education arm of Southern Baptist. Our ladies group at LFBC is called Mission Mosaic because we encompass education, prayer, Bible study and Mission service. Our Mission study takes us across our continent and around the world connecting us to people, groups and cultures far removed from our small community. Through the stories of missionaries, called to serve, we draw close to needs across the globe. We also participate in local ministry providing meals for women seeking to improve their lives through Anchor Ministry, We’ve sewn over 200 eyeglass cases to send to Guatemala with the message that God brings sight to the spiritually blind, and we have made the beautiful olive wood products of Glad Tidings available at LFBC providing income for the handicapped in the Middle East. Missionary speakers are often invited and supported by our budget through your giving. In the summer we support Mission Education for the children through RA’s and GA’s. We welcome all who desire to pray, give and go. The opportunities are limitless as we join God where he is working. How is God calling you to fulfill your role in Christ’s commission?”
